What a scoop for start of the 2026/2027 season! This year we want to bring you a bit of a wrap up – a call out for some highlights and a general celebration of what our teams achieved around the diamond over the weekend.

Mighty Mitts – Little League

Kicking off the weekend our 40s, 46s and Majors hit the field to shake off the dust and most importantly have fun! We have lots of players who have graduated from Rookies or are new to the club in this bunch and what a play they made!

Our Majors came away with a win 14-8 against Padres Grey. Showing their majorly awesome skills throughout the game as a team. Fergus slugging a safe hit to shortstop, which got both Asher and himself home with a little help from a fielding error – what a great play!

40s were defeated by Padres Grey by just 1 run at 4-5 but some amazing support throughout the game from Sean kept the team in high spirits and 46’s went down swinging with a massive effort to All Stars landing at 9-4. Lots of learning this game with some players fresh off the rookie bench – and even our coaches pitched ok ;)

Every team worked together and played hard, cheered hard and showed lovely sportsmanship – I heard a coach say at training the other day “We play as a team, we support each other as a team” and I think our Little League definitely showed that.

Rising Stars - Juniors

Our 70s took a loss this weekend, going down 18-9 to Windsor Royals Blue but a valiant effort from the team that just kept pushing. Even a cheeky steal to home plate by our own Rosie! Umpires also reported fabulous sportsmanship from both teams but particularly Windsor’s pitcher and catcher whose attitude and support showed a great inclusive nature.

The 80’s triumphantly took the win 15-5 against Narangba Demons Blue with a strong start to their season. Much of this team are returning and are keen to be repping in the 80s comp, my favourite thing about this team is watching how hard they work together and how they support each other on the field!

Facing Padres our Under 20s took a hit not quite getting the result they wanted with a 6-2 loss. It has been a couple of seasons since we have had a 20s team and adding this development path back in is definitely a win. Xavier taking the mound showing some skill with 5 strikeouts, 0 safe hits and a couple pitches returned at him to get to 1^st base outs and Tehya copping a Hit by Pitch only to later take a line drive straight to her glove for an out!

Dug Out Divas - Womens

The girls are back in town and starting strong with 2 wins for the weekend! It was definitely a girls-girl weekend – lots of support for both teams. Both our precious gems sparkling on the field this weekend.

The inaugural Div 3 Emeralds kicked it off with a boom! Taking the win from Narangba Demons 18-14. Strong effort by both teams and what a way to introduce a great new division for women’s baseball. Daisy made her plate debut but didn’t let her nerves interfere with a stellar hit and gained a solid RBI for the team, and some acrobatics in the in field Rena doing it in style to dive and roll then toss a ball to second base for an out.

Div 2 Diamonds took up their positions – with some help from our Div 3 superhero Rena they also took the win with a 14-7 finish against Pine Hills Blaze. Turning a double play in the first innings, Mel with a cracking triple and the team shaking off some nerves in new positions, new skills and still putting on a show.

Iron Glove - Seniors

The Sunday sesh started with a draw for Div 2 against Redlands Rays at 8-8, the team came back strong to tie the game, finding their feet as a new team and getting comfortable on the field. We know Div2 love a fight and will be keen to get back out their next week and own the diamond.

Div 4 brought thunder to Pine Hills lightning taking the win 9-5, the team taking some support from other divisions showing off the great club team focus we like to see at Rapids. Solid base running and some great plays kept this team on track and I am sure we will see them crack the win next weekend.

In Div 5 Southern Stars were up in clouds while our Rapids snuck the win out from underneath them for a just over the line 8-7 win! A bit of shake up in the team but that didn’t rattle the boys – managing 2 triples to start their foray towards finals.

Div 6 taking the Rapids name at face value and rushing to the win with a 13-9 result against Narangba Demons Green. This crew will be one to watch as they grow this season with a mix of skill and lots of spirit – keep your eyes out and I reckon we will see great things.

Timeless Titans - Masters

It was a wet start for Masters Div 3 Green with some sprinklers being the culprit! We will look for a reschedule there and let the ducks enjoy the field. But that didn’t stop them from coming home to support our other masters teams.

Masters Div 2 took the field putting up a strong performance against Pine Hills Lightning Gold but just unable to get the result, going down 10-3. But these a tough group of players, solid and long standing and we know they will coming back hard next week now the dust has been shaken, to show us what they have.

The double header concluded with Masters Div 3 Gold to round out our weekend with another win taking the score from Narangba Demons Green with a 12-7 result. A great hustle with Matt sliding safely in to 3rd – those shiny new white pants are never clean for long, a couple of amazing outs made by Rena and Kristy to help seal the end result.

Baseball Queensland registrations are payable in full at the time of registration and MUST be completed before 21/09/2026  for players to take the field.

The Baseball Queensland registration is essentially for player insurance.
